1ST ANNUAL BAMBINOS ACADEMY WINTER SOCCER JAMBOREE A GREAT SUCCESS!

This last weekend, at the beautiful Tequesta Trace Park in the City of Weston, our club held its inaugural 1st Annual FUTSOC Bambinos Winter Soccer Jamboree. The event, which brought together the youngest aged youth players from the respective junior academies of West Pines United FC Youth Academy Program and the Boca Raton Juniors Soccer Club, along with our renowned FUTSOC Bambinos Academy, was a resounding success. With over 80 youths attending in the U7 – U10 age groupings, parental support was also in full force, with over 200 spectators enjoying the spectacle of their young ones having great FUN playing the beautiful game.

Organized in a round robin format, each team played three matches over the course of the event, with NO relevance or importance given to the score in each game, the players were able to enjoy an afternoon of pressure-less play, with the entire focus being the interaction with other teams and players. The teams were all quite evenly matched, so that all games were for the most part, very exciting to all present.

I wish to single out all the parents for their demonstrated support, excellent conduct and unyielding support of the event. There was not even one incident of misconduct or anything worthy of any type of reprimand or even mention, which made the overall experience so wonderful. Having this type of dedicated support, we hope to have initiated a pattern for the future, where the child is our foremost consideration, along with the highest respect and the upholding of the best principles of good sportsmanship in competition. In all my years of coaching and directing soccer – especially at this young age, I have rarely experienced a more enjoyable afternoon of soccer, where all the elements (players, coaches, parents and the facility) came together with such wonderful results!

Lastly, we wish to extend our sincere appreciation to the three academy directors – Henry Pedraza of West Pines United FC Youth Academy Program, Juan “Lolo” Abarca of Boca Raton Juniors Soccer Club for their commitment, support and participation in this endeavor and to our very own Francisco Tamayo, Director of the FUTSOC Bambinos Academy, for his incessant and extraordinary efforts in making this highly anticipated and wonderfully conceptualized, organized and conducted event possible. Further mention to Coach Carlo Tamayo and Coach Armando Tamayo, for their great efforts in making sure the complex was set up and managed properly and efficiently, as well as for the coaching of the various teams we presented.
