The fabled Project: ENIGMA, recently concluded its third cycle of its highly renowned dynamic player development program, attending the inaugural NYC CUP WORLDWIDE SHOWCASE, at Randall Island in New York City. Playing at the spectacular Randall Island Sports Complex (under the mammoth FDR bridge overlooking the unique NYC skyline in the background), ENIGMA arrived with great aspirations to show well in front of hundreds of college scouts in attendance and represent our special South Florida soccer and our great City of Weston. Entering the event as the men’s U19’S No. 1 team from Florida, No. 1 team in Region III and the No. 3 ranked team in the U.S., the team was the subject of much discussion and informational scrutiny prior to the start of the tournament.

Starting the event with a thrashing of a strong Hicksville American SC 5::0, our next opponent proved to be a complicated one – Hudson United Predators. In what the center referee of the match qualified as the finest soccer game he had ever seen played in New York City, ENIGMA battled with a very tough opponent to a 2::2 tie. Two teams possessing of greatly skilled players and very organized squads, it was not until the very end of the match that the result held. With under two minutes to go, our boys were thwarted four times from scoring the winning goal. However, the result was a favorable one considering the significance of the match and the accumulated fatigue of the players after the two day trek from South Florida. ENIGMA were the team which traveled from the greatest ground distance from the site and the effects of this travel were most evident when the third showcase match was played against a feisty North Plainfield squad which battled from beginning to end in a 2::1 match played in upper 90’s degree weather and on a slow, heavy grass pitch.

The principal reason for attending this prestigious event, scores of scouts continually approached our staff for information about many of our gifted players, and ultimately, 13 ENIGMA players received scholarship offers from different universities and colleges in attendance and the rest, beneficiaries of great interest for younger players still too young to be approached, but who hold great promise for the future.

In departing this special event, we were advised that FUTSOC ENIGMA concluded the 2014-2015 season ranked No. 1 in the State of Florida, No. 1 in Region III and of greatest significance…No. 1 ranking in the United States!

Congratulations to this outstanding group of talented young men on a season like few others! This superb group, follows in the great tradition of previous editions of the renowned ENIGMA, in both attaining national prominence and outstanding college interest and educational offers for scholarships. Player development has always been at the foundation of all our efforts with youths and is once again evidenced by the undeniable effectiveness, the proven quality and the verifiable quantitative and qualitative results attained by our players and teams over the years of this cycle…the third ENIGMA cycle.
